...The people of ancient Cycladic culture promoted Keros as a sanctuary for all Cyclades. In Keros there was a big ceremony, so called 'invocation'. The fundamental mechanism of the invocation was the idea that the pieces of the object carry the soul of the object, of the whole object. In the context of this ceremony, people from all Cyclades would break a clay structure or even a statue. They would leave a fragment in Keros and share with each other the other fragments. Those fragments they would take with them to the places where they returned. In this way they participated in the ritual of consolidating a unity between people living in remote areas. They founded the imaginary connections of a common identity.
